Truly lovely stay. Ayurveda treatments were excellent. Food was very delicious and chef made such a personal effort. Staff all around very kind and friendly. We did yoga every day and our yoga master Pradeep Kumar was the absolute best! He went above and beyond to impart his extensive knowledge. We felt so lucky to meet him and have the benefit of his teachings. Although just 3 day stay, we enjoyed every minute and wish it was longer. Pool is so nice and all around great stay. Highly recommend!!

excellent place to relax, to restore. good balance of peace, relax, good food, very clean, excellent yoga lessons in the morning and in the afternoon (I did it with mr Kumar), excellent ayurveda massage with a very good doctor. you can arrive by boat and it is amazing.

A beautiful stay in the Punnamada Resort hotel. Starting the day with a yoga class on the meadow underneath the rain tree right at the lakeside with an excellent (and friendly : - ) yoga master. Very good and healthy Indian food in the lakeside restaurant, daily ayurveda massages by experienced and well skilled ladies. A beautiful hotel campus with exotic trees, flowers, butterflies and birds. Superfriendly personnel, comfortable rooms with all amenities (AC, flatscreen tv, four-poster canopy bed, outdoor bathroom and shower). We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will never forget it. We hope to come back. Namaste.

This is our 2nd visit, we came here to take Ayurveda treatment from Dr. Balraj ( head of Ayurveda Punnamada) he is really good.God bless him. Staff is very sweet, welcoming and helpful, they go out of their way to make touch feel at home. Food is good. Eniournment is very peaceful.

Went for a short 3 day break to Alleppey earlier this month. The resort is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Cochin Airport. The location of the resort is quite obscure and you can easily miss the small lane that leads you towards the resort. Once you're there, it is a beautiful location. Punnamada is a small boutique resort with only individual cottages. The cottages are done very tastefully - minimal yet aesthetic eco-friendly design. Pros: Beautiful location very close to the back waters Excellent staff and very friendly service - Front desk, restaurant and the boat staff are all very considerate and well versed with local geography, culture and food. Good food, especially if you like to try local Keralian food Very clean resort considering it was stagnant water all around and open air bathrooms (it was free of insects even in peak monsoon season with very low occupancy in the resort) The Ayurveda treatment centre was decent. It could do with a face lift. Cons: Limited activities inside and around the resort. Even the in-house activities like a pool table are chargeable. The pool wasn't functional for maintenance - This should have been informed before we booked. However, the front staff was kind enough to arrange pool access at the Ramada Hotel with their own pick up and drop. Unlike regular hotel building structure, this one 'feel' more authentic and in touch with nature. Overall a very good stay and certainly worth coming back.

We have stayed at Punnamada Resort in Jan during our holidays. Lake View Villa room where we stayed is on the very bank of the Punnamada Lake. It is such a beautiful resort and preserved so nicely. Kerala traditional architecture is used to construct the rooms and it is preserved as eco friendly. Use of plastic is aborted to the maximum; they used sealed glass bottles in our rooms to serve water. They keep cloth napkins everywhere, the whole resort is filled with greenery and the most exciting thing is that they have small farm of vegetables and birds in the close vicinity of the resort. We enjoyed their Ayurveda massages and it was authentic. They have open bathrooms also with an option to cover up if needed. We really want to come back next year to spend little more time !!!

We stayed at Punnamada Resort it was amazing. This offers you the authentic Ayurveda spa to please most. The staff are most helpful willing to please guests with good service and a variety of things to do at the resort and outside. You can experience a sunset cruise on a houseboat with a romantic or family dinner. The many rivers and lakes are stunning lined with palms and lush plantations that is green and makes viewing a pleasure. The sunsets and beautiful. The quesine at the resort is mostly regional with many foods made of coconut and local vegetables and fish etc. We really enjoyed the meals served here and the hospitality of people here. These daily evening cultural programmes are very interesting. We will certainly be back here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Punnamada. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the rooms distinctive and comfortable. The highlights of our stay were the yoga classes with Pradeep Kumar, the evening boat ride and the overnight houseboat trip. The Ayurveda treatments were sublime. A delightful end of stay in India before travelling home.

We stayed for five nights next to Kerala Backwaters and it was wonderful. A highlight for me was being able to take some yoga classes with Pradeep Kumar, he is highly skilled in teaching yoga and clearly explained the importance of being connected to the mind, body and soul. The Ayurveda treatments were wonderful, the consultants are nurturing with healing hands, the food is delicious and the service is amazing. The menu adequately covers all tastes. Loved having a morning chai brought to me by the lake - I didn't even ask for it they just knew - amazing!! The grounds are immaculate and a 'must do' is to go for a sail on the resort's houseboat in the afternoon and watch the Kerala sun go down. There are plenty of activities outside of the resort which can easily be organised for you at Reception. Loved Punnamada Resort and am looking forward to returning one day. Thank you everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.

We had a one night stay in lake view villa the time we had there was very peaceful and relaxing and the food was good but expensive for Indian standards. We had a massage in the Ayurveda center which was excellent and hope to return to do a full 7 day package. The yoga lesson was also excellent.
