Streeshakti Ayurveda Beach Retreat sits along the shores of the Arabian Sea as India’s first Ayurveda beach retreat created exclusively for women. The retreat’s serene coastal setting, where sea spray drifts gently from the waves and sunsets colour the horizon, forms a calming backdrop for rest and renewal. With only eight aesthetically designed rooms, the ambience feels intimate and personal, allowing each guest to remain closely connected to the beauty of the coastline and the quiet rhythm of the sea. A sea-facing swimming pool further enhances this sense of tranquillity, offering a peaceful space to unwind while enjoying the surrounding natural charm.

Conceived and operated entirely by women, Streeshakti Ayurveda Beach Retreat reflects a hospitality philosophy deeply attuned to the needs of the feminine body. Every treatment and wellness plan is thoughtfully designed with an understanding that women often experience more complex physiological patterns and heightened stress levels. The retreat places special focus on nurturing both physical and emotional well-being, ensuring that each guest feels supported with care, sensitivity and a clear respect for women’s health.

The retreat’s Ayurveda centre provides a peaceful, focused environment where physical discomforts and emotional burdens can gently subside. Treatments are rooted in traditional Ayurveda, guided by an approach that considers the body, mind and spirit as interconnected aspects of health. The food menu is designed to complement these therapies, with meals prepared to support treatment goals and promote internal balance throughout a guest’s stay.

Treatment For Arthritis

Herbal remedies play a central role in Ayurvedic treatments for arthritis and spondylitis. Medicinal herbs such as turmeric, ginger, boswellia, ashwagandha, and guggulu are renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties and ability to support joint health. These herbs can be consumed orally as powders, capsules, or teas, or applied topically in the form of oils or ointments. Dietary modifications are another cornerstone of Ayurvedic therapy. Emphasizing a diet that is warm, nourishing, and easily digestible, Ayurveda recommends avoiding foods that aggravate the doshas associated with arthritis and spondylitis, such as cold, dry, and processed foods. Including spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric in cooking can also aid digestion and reduce inflammation. In addition to herbal remedies and dietary adjustments, Ayurvedic treatment often incorporates lifestyle modifications and therapeutic practices to promote overall well-being. Gentle exercises like yoga and tai chi can improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, and enhance joint mobility. Ayurvedic therapies such as Abhyanga (oil massage), Swedana (herbal steam therapy), and Basti (medicated enema) may also be recommended to detoxify the body, reduce pain, and restore balance. By addressing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, Ayurvedic treatment for arthritis and spondylitis aims to not only alleviate physical discomfort but also to promote holistic healing and improve quality of life. However, it's important to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to receive personalized guidance and ensure safe and effective treatment.

14 Nights Arthritis Treatment Program

The 14 Nights Arthritis Treatment Program at Streeshakti Ayurveda Beach Retreat is a specialised Ayurvedic healing program designed to relieve joint pain, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility through traditional therapeutic methods. According to Ayurveda, arthritis is often associated with an imbalance of Vata dosha, which can lead to stiffness, swelling, pain, and degeneration of the joints when toxins accumulate in the body. This program focuses on eliminating toxins, nourishing joint tissues, and restoring balance within the musculoskeletal system. By combining detoxification therapies, medicated oil treatments, and lifestyle guidance, the program aims to reduce discomfort while supporting long-term joint health. The program begins with a detailed consultation with the Ayurvedic physician, who evaluates the guest’s body constitution, severity of symptoms, and overall health condition. Based on this assessment, a personalised treatment plan is developed to address the underlying causes of arthritis and joint disorders. The therapies selected are designed to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, lubricate the joints, and strengthen the surrounding muscles and tissues. Each therapy session typically lasts around one and a half hours daily and is carried out under the supervision of experienced Ayurvedic doctors and trained therapists. During the program, guests may receive a combination of traditional Ayurvedic therapies such as Abhyanga Swedana (herbal oil massage with steam therapy), Shirodhara, Pizhichil (medicated oil bath), Podikizhy (herbal powder bolus massage), Elakizhy (leaf bolus massage), Kashaya Dhara (herbal decoction therapy), Avagahana (herbal hip bath), Njavarakizhy (medicated rice bolus therapy), and Kati Vasti (localized treatment for the lower back). Additional treatments such as Pichu (localised oil application on affected joints), Nasyam (nasal therapy), Virechanam (therapeutic purgation), Vasthi (medicated enema therapy), and Lepam (application of herbal medicated paste) may also be incorporated depending on the guest’s condition and response to treatment. The program also includes internal Ayurvedic medicines and a specially prescribed therapeutic diet, which support detoxification and joint nourishment. Guests may also participate in morning yoga sessions, which help improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, and enhance overall mobility.
