The property is very old. They should upgrade the property according to requirement. Rooms size is good. Nice location near sea beach. Nice food. Network issue in room. Restaurant service staff are very helpful.

The place is very nice as far as the location is concerned. Morning beach time stroll, and breakfast is one of the finest things. However , it is an old property now, with not much maintained rooms, . Renovation is required in bathrooms and rooms.

Location quite good with a beach.(can't say private beach but its not so easy to access for an outsider). But as the beach entrance is at a steep cliff side it is not accessible for all especially for elderly. No elevator in this property. Rooms are manageable but need maintanance. The manager and front desk were very helpful. Howah beach is nearby and accessible by a steep road. Main things that need improvement are room maintainance and housekeeping,Housekeeping was quite bad. We stayed in the 1st floor and our room was not cleaned in despite requests. Had to follow up multiple times for water refill. But still they are blessed with the location,if maintained properly...they can provide the best budget stay in Kovalam

Nice hotel- Super breakfast, exceeded expectations. Good choice of fresh fruits, cereals, made to order foods like dhosa's & fresh juices available. Fantastic location, very close to the beach, has own private beach. The rooms are nice and spacious- bathroom a little outdated. The staff and customer service are exceptional at this hotel. Abdul Mateen and Jolly in the restaurant are to be commended for their dedication to guest satisfaction. Definitely recommend

I stayed in the standard sea facing bungalow and it was a real pleasure. Clean, spacious, ceiling fan and A/c working properly, daily water supply. I bought the 14days ayurveda Panchakarma and Slimming package and it was a delight. A clean beach and warm sea at my feet: perfect. The hotel was very quiet at the time of my stay (first 2 weeks of february) which, for me, it´s an ideal situation. The staff (specially in the restaurant) were exceptionally friendly and professional.

Located relatively in a serene location with access to a small private beach, this is a good property. The staff is courteous, pool is clean and view from the room is great. The ayurvedic treatment offered is good and relaxing. While most things seem to works for this place, what is missing is that little extra that makes a place special - like availability of a basic packed breakfast if you need to leave early for flight, service orientedness for beach or pool visit through towels, etc. It has the infra, lacking that bit of a zeal to make it a very memorable place.

If you are looking for time away from hustle and bustle, this is the place. Stunning view of the ocean and private beach. Well maintained swimming pool and decent restaurant. Breakfast can be improved. Ayurveda massage was amazing

I am an experiensed traveler, have visited many places in India and have lived in many hotels. I may compare and write my experience with this reason . It was my second visit to Kovalam and the second stop at the Hotel Soma Palmshore from 27 september till 2 October 2018. Remembering a pleasant staying at this hotel first time, 5 years ago, and my desire to return there, I didn't consider other options for other staying. And I wasn't mistaken in my re-choise. Of course, I note that the hotel needs repairs, especially the bathrooms. But this reason doesn't spoil the good mood of the good friendly atmosphere that accompanies you everywhere. The hotel is wonderfully located, with its own private beach in the arounding of coconut palms. So you will feel free on the beach, what is very important reason for the beaches of India. Steps lead you to the beach, this way is also a good natural training apparatus. If you prefer to lie down with a book nearby the pool or swim in the pool - you see a good pool with clean water . You booking simple, but very clean, comfortable room, with a wonderful big balcony and sea views. You can sleep with the sound of the waves. Try to choose a higher floor in the main building. You can get an Ayurvedic treatment if you bookig this hotel. You will be greeted by the competent consultation of the doctor of Ayurveda and the caring hands of the masters of massage. If you want to stay in hotel , there is a good restaurant with quality food and normal prices. If you want go for a walking, the lighthouse beach promenade with many differents restaurants situated not far away. So there you have a choice. I especially want to tell about good work of the attendants, starting from the lobby, very kind concierge and ending with the employees of the restaurant and security. If fate brings me back to Kerala and Trivandrum, I will not look for any other hotel, but will stay again at my beloved Soma Palmshore. This is the best advertisement for the hotel, I think.
