More about Indimasi Healing Village

At Indimasi Healing Village, food is regarded as an integral part of healing. Guided by the wisdom of Ayurveda, every meal is thoughtfully curated to support individual dosha balance and overall vitality. Expert practitioners provide dietary guidance, ensuring that each guest receives meals that are both nourishing and therapeutic.

The in-house Ayurvedic restaurant serves a menu rooted in the philosophy of seasonal, local, and organic living, with ingredients sourced directly from Indimasi’s own organic farm and dairy. Freshly harvested vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy products are transformed into wholesome dishes that embody the principles of preventive wellness. The cuisine emphasises grains such as brown rice, millet, maize, and wheat, along with nutrient-rich tubers like sweet potato, elephant yam, and white yam. Healing ingredients including turmeric, honey, and palm sugar are thoughtfully integrated to enhance both taste and health benefits.

The culinary journey here goes beyond taste—it is a celebration of vegetarian and raw food traditions in a creative, yogic style. Every dish reflects a commitment to sustainable development and fair-trade practices, while offering guests the opportunity to experience the profound therapeutic power of food. Dining at Indimasi is not only about nourishment, but also about cultivating balance, mindfulness, and harmony with nature.

Indimasi Healing Village offers a serene environment enriched with a range of facilities designed to nurture body, mind, and spirit. An organic vegetable farm, a dairy, a refreshing swimming pool, and a Kalari (school of Indian martial arts) form the core of leisure experiences, encouraging guests to engage with nature and traditional practices. These facilities highlight Indimasi’s commitment to sustainable living and holistic wellness.

Strategically located in the hillocks near the Ponmudi hills, away from the coastal region, the setting has been deliberately chosen for its healing benefits. The avoidance of salty seaside air ensures an atmosphere that supports treatments for serious ailments, enhancing recovery and overall well-being.

Indimasi Healing Village creates a haven where organic farming, dairy practices, and martial arts converge, offering guests a holistic sanctuary that perfectly blends leisure with wellness.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. Ayurveda expressed the same wisdom centuries ago, defining health as the harmony of the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) alongside a contented mind, senses, and spirit. Indimasi follows the philosophy that the right combination of food, exercise, medication, and meditation leads to total well-being and helps individuals explore their inner potential.

The Centre for Yogic Living at Indimasi is rooted in the tradition of ?r? Vidy? Yoga, where Yoga and Pranayama are combined with the right diet, Ayurvedic and Siddha therapies to address lifestyle diseases such as arthritis, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart conditions, stroke, depression, and even cancer. The centre also conducts seminars, workshops, and wellness programs, while promoting organic produce and yogic living.

Indimasi also preserves the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu (Kalari), regarded as the mother of all martial arts. Practised for centuries in Kerala, Kalari encompasses weapons training, unarmed combat, steps (Chuvadu), and postures (Vadivu). Beyond being a martial art, Kalari nurtures discipline, vitality, and holistic strength, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.

The Siddha System of Medicine, one of the oldest healing traditions, also finds a place at Indimasi. With its origins in South India, the Siddha tradition explores the healing potential of plants, minerals, metals, and yogic practices. Guided by Yogi Shivan, Indimasi integrates Ayurveda, Yoga, and Siddha Medicine, creating a comprehensive system where no disease is considered beyond control.

In addition, Indimasi embraces Naturopathy, a drugless system of healing that recognises the body’s innate power to expel toxins and restore balance. Rooted in India’s ancient wisdom, Naturopathy reinforces the commitment to natural living and holistic health.

4 Ayurvedic treatment units are available within the centre, ensuring individualised attention and care for every guest.

Panchakarma

A Panchakarma retreat is a deeply transformative Ayurvedic detox and healing program designed to eliminate accumulated toxins, restore internal balance, and rejuvenate the body and mind. Rooted in the ancient science of Ayurveda, Panchakarma meaning “five actions” is a medically guided process that works at a cellular level to remove toxins (Ama), strengthen digestion (Agni) and balance the three doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Unlike modern detox programs or wellness retreats that focus only on relaxation, a Panchakarma retreat is a structured therapeutic process aimed at long-term health, disease prevention and complete physiological reset. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, the body is constantly exposed to stress, processed foods, environmental pollutants and irregular routines. These factors weaken digestion and lead to the accumulation of Ama, a toxic byproduct that obstructs bodily channels and disrupts normal functioning. Over time, this imbalance manifests as fatigue, weight gain, poor digestion, hormonal issues, joint pain, skin disorders, and mental stress. A Panchakarma retreat addresses these root causes by mobilising and eliminating toxins from deep tissues, allowing the body to restore its natural intelligence and healing capacity. A traditional Panchakarma treatment follows a carefully structured three-stage process to ensure safety and effectiveness. The first stage, known as preparation (Purva Karma), involves therapies such as Snehana (internal and external oiling) and Swedana (herbal steam therapy), which help loosen and mobilise toxins from the tissues. The second stage, the main detox phase (Pradhana Karma), includes specialised treatments such as Virechana (therapeutic purgation), Basti (medicated enemas), Nasya (nasal detox), and in specific cases, Vamana or Raktamokshana. These therapies are selected based on individual diagnosis and are performed under the supervision of qualified Ayurvedic doctors. The final stage, rejuvenation (Paschat Karma), focuses on restoring strength, rebuilding immunity, and stabilising the body through herbal medicines, a specialised Ayurvedic diet, and lifestyle guidance. A Panchakarma retreat offers a wide range of benefits that go beyond physical detoxification. It improves digestion and metabolism, supports sustainable weight management, enhances immunity, reduces stress and anxiety, improves sleep quality, and promotes clearer skin and increased energy levels. One of the most profound effects of Panchakarma is its impact on mental clarity and emotional balance. As toxins are eliminated from the body, the nervous system becomes more stable, allowing the mind to shift from a state of stress to a state of calm and focus. Many individuals experience a deep sense of reset, both physically and mentally, after completing a Panchakarma program. When choosing a Panchakarma retreat, location plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of the treatment. A Panchakarma retreat in Kerala, India is widely considered the most authentic and effective option due to its strong Ayurvedic lineage, ideal tropical climate, and access to medicinal herbs. Kerala is home to highly trained BAMS-certified Ayurvedic doctors who follow classical treatment protocols, ensuring a medically accurate and personalised approach. The warm and humid climate of Kerala supports detoxification by opening the body’s channels, making treatments more effective compared to colder regions. For this reason, Kerala has become the global centre for authentic Panchakarma therapy. Across India, Panchakarma retreats are available in various formats, ranging from traditional Ayurvedic hospitals to luxury wellness resorts. While India offers a wide range of options, the quality and authenticity of treatment can vary significantly, making it important to choose centres that provide personalised care and medical supervision. A Panchakarma retreat in Sri Lanka offers a similar tropical environment and is emerging as a destination for Ayurvedic healing, often combining traditional therapies with a more relaxed retreat experience. Meanwhile, a Panchakarma retreat in Bali is popular for its scenic beauty and luxury wellness offerings, although treatments may be adapted and may not always follow classical Ayurvedic protocols as practised in India. A typical Panchakarma retreat includes an initial consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, personalised treatment planning, daily therapies, herbal medications, and a specialised Ayurvedic diet designed to support detoxification. Many retreats also incorporate yoga, meditation, and lifestyle guidance to enhance overall well-being. The duration of a Panchakarma program can vary depending on individual health goals, with 7-day programs offering mild detox, 14-day programs providing moderate cleansing, and 21 to 28-day programs delivering deep detoxification and long-term healing benefits. For chronic conditions and deeper imbalances, longer programs are generally recommended. Choosing the right Panchakarma retreat is essential for achieving safe and effective results. A genuine retreat should offer qualified Ayurvedic doctors, personalised treatment protocols, daily medical supervision, authentic Panchakarma therapies, and a structured dietary plan. It is important to understand that Panchakarma is not a spa treatment or a relaxation package—it is a medical healing process rooted in Ayurvedic science. A Panchakarma retreat is ultimately an investment in long-term health and well-being. It is ideal for individuals seeking to address chronic health issues, improve digestion, reduce stress, enhance immunity, or simply reset the body and mind. By removing deep-rooted toxins and restoring balance, Panchakarma allows the body to function optimally and maintain a state of natural harmony. Whether you choose a Panchakarma retreat in Kerala, India, Sri Lanka, or Bali, the experience offers a powerful opportunity to reconnect with your health, restore vitality, and experience true holistic healing.

Rasayana Chikitsa (Rejuvenation Therapy)

Rasayana Chikitsa occupies a unique place in Ayurveda as the branch dedicated to rejuvenation, regeneration, and longevity science. While commonly understood as a therapy, Rasayana is traditionally described as a discipline that enhances the quality of life by improving tissue integrity, cognitive function, and resistance to ageing. It operates through specialised protocols that support the renewal of body tissues (Dhatus) and optimise the flow of nutrients across physiological systems. One of the defining aspects of Rasayana therapy is its focus on tissue nourishment at successive levels. Ayurveda explains that the body is sustained through a chain of tissue formation—from plasma (Rasa) to reproductive tissue (Shukra). When this chain is disrupted, degeneration, fatigue, and premature ageing begin to appear. Rasayana Chikitsa works by improving this tissue transformation process, ensuring that each layer is properly nourished and regenerated. A key concept associated with Rasayana is Ojas, considered the essence of all bodily tissues and the foundation of immunity, vitality, and mental stability. Depletion of Ojas is linked to chronic fatigue, low immunity, emotional instability, and reduced resilience. Rasayana therapies are designed to rebuild Ojas through targeted herbal formulations, dietary regulation, and restorative treatments that strengthen both physical and psychological endurance. Rasayana Chikitsa is also closely connected to age management in Ayurveda. Classical texts describe different stages of life and recommend Rasayana interventions to slow down degeneration and maintain optimal function. This makes it particularly relevant for individuals seeking healthy ageing, improved cognitive performance, and sustained energy levels rather than symptomatic treatment alone. There are different approaches within Rasayana therapy, including Kutipraveshika Rasayana (a highly controlled and intensive rejuvenation protocol conducted in isolation) and Vatatapika Rasayana (a more practical, lifestyle-integrated approach suitable for retreat settings). While the former is rarely practised in modern environments due to its strict requirements, the latter forms the foundation of most Rasayana Chikitsa retreat programs today. Geographical context plays an important role in the effectiveness of Rasayana therapy. A Rasayana Chikitsa retreat in Kerala, India offers access to traditional Ayurvedic lineages, region-specific herbal preparations, and clinical expertise developed over generations. The natural humidity and temperature of Kerala are considered supportive for therapeutic absorption and tissue nourishment. In comparison, other parts of India offer varied approaches, ranging from clinical Ayurvedic hospitals to wellness-focused retreats. A Rasayana retreat in Sri Lanka shares similar climatic advantages and continues to grow as a complementary Ayurvedic destination. Meanwhile, a rejuvenation retreat in Bali is often positioned within a luxury wellness framework, where the emphasis may lean more towards relaxation and lifestyle enhancement rather than classical Ayurvedic methodology. Rasayana Chikitsa is particularly relevant in conditions involving degeneration and depletion, including low immunity, post-illness recovery, chronic fatigue syndromes, and age-related decline. It is also used to support mental performance, memory, and emotional stability, making it beneficial for individuals experiencing burnout or cognitive strain. A structured Rasayana program involves more than therapies alone. It includes strict adherence to dietary guidelines (Pathya), behavioural discipline, and routine alignment to maximise absorption and effectiveness. Seasonal considerations (Ritucharya) and daily routines (Dinacharya) are often integrated into the program to enhance long-term outcomes. The success of Rasayana therapy depends heavily on consistency, correct sequencing, and the individual’s ability to follow these guidelines. Another important aspect is that Rasayana Chikitsa is often recommended after detoxification therapies such as Panchakarma, as a cleansed body is more receptive to nourishment and regeneration. This sequencing significantly enhances the effectiveness of Rasayana interventions. Choosing the right Rasayana Chikitsa retreat requires attention to medical authenticity and program structure. Key factors include the presence of qualified Ayurvedic physicians, use of classical herbal formulations, personalised protocols, and a controlled environment that supports rest and recovery. Unlike general wellness programs, Rasayana therapy requires a methodical approach to deliver measurable and lasting results. Rasayana Chikitsa ultimately represents Ayurveda’s vision of sustained vitality rather than temporary wellness. By focusing on regeneration, tissue strength, and internal resilience, it provides a pathway to maintain health, delay ageing, and enhance overall quality of life in a structured and scientifically grounded manner.

Shodhana Chikitsa (Body Detoxification)

Shodhana Chikitsa represents the purificatory branch of Ayurveda, focusing on the systematic elimination of accumulated waste and restoring physiological balance. It is a clinically structured approach that works through specialised procedures designed to cleanse different systems of the body, including the digestive tract, circulatory pathways, and deeper tissue channels (Srotas). In Ayurveda, the body’s internal transport system plays a crucial role in maintaining health. When these channels become obstructed due to improper digestion, lifestyle factors, or environmental influences, it can lead to stagnation, inflammation, and the progression of disease. Shodhana therapies are designed to clear these pathways, allowing nutrients to circulate effectively and supporting the body’s natural regulatory functions. A core component of Shodhana Chikitsa is its integration with the classical detoxification framework commonly associated with Panchakarma. Depending on individual requirements, purification methods such as Virechana (therapeutic purgation), Vamana (controlled emesis), and Basti (medicated enema therapy) may be incorporated to target specific imbalances. These procedures are not applied uniformly but are carefully selected and sequenced based on the individual’s constitution and clinical condition. Before the main purification procedures, the body undergoes preparatory processes that enhance the effectiveness of detoxification. These include Snehana (internal and external oleation) to loosen deeply seated toxins and Swedana (herbal steam therapy) to mobilise them into the digestive tract for elimination. This preparatory phase ensures that the purification process is both effective and controlled. Following detoxification, a structured post-therapy phase is introduced to stabilise the body and restore digestive strength. This includes gradual dietary progression, digestive support, and lifestyle regulation to ensure that the system adapts smoothly after the cleansing process. Without this phase, the benefits of detoxification may not be sustained. A Shodhana Chikitsa retreat in Kerala, India offers a highly authentic setting for these therapies due to the region’s long-standing Ayurvedic tradition, availability of trained practitioners, and use of classical treatment protocols. Kerala’s climate supports sweating and metabolic activity, which enhances the efficiency of detoxification procedures. Across India, detox programs are available in both clinical and retreat formats, while destinations such as Sri Lanka and Bali provide alternative wellness-focused experiences that may combine Ayurvedic principles with broader spa and relaxation approaches. Shodhana Chikitsa is particularly relevant for individuals dealing with chronic imbalances, inflammatory conditions, metabolic disorders, and skin-related concerns, where toxin accumulation and channel obstruction play a significant role. It is also used as a preparatory step before deeper rejuvenation therapies, as a cleansed system responds more effectively to nourishment and restorative treatments. This form of Ayurvedic detoxification is not a general wellness trend but a medically guided process that requires precision, sequencing, and professional supervision. Its effectiveness lies in its ability to address the root level of imbalance, making it a foundational therapy within the broader Ayurvedic system of healing.

Weight Management

Ayurvedic weight management is based on the principle that sustainable weight balance is achieved through metabolic correction, hormonal regulation, and lifestyle alignment, rather than temporary calorie restriction. It focuses on restoring the body’s natural ability to process, absorb, and utilise nutrients efficiently, ensuring that weight loss occurs gradually and remains stable over time. One of the key factors addressed in Ayurvedic weight management is the role of metabolic toxins (Ama) and impaired digestive fire, which can lead to the accumulation of excess body fat and fluid retention. When metabolic pathways are inefficient, the body tends to store rather than utilise energy, resulting in persistent weight gain despite dietary control. Ayurvedic therapies are designed to stimulate these metabolic processes and improve the body’s ability to eliminate waste effectively. A structured weight management retreat in Kerala, India includes a combination of specialised therapies that actively support fat metabolism and circulation. Treatments such as Udwarthanam, a herbal powder massage, help break down subcutaneous fat and improve lymphatic drainage, while Swedana (therapeutic steam) enhances sweating and supports toxin elimination. In certain cases, detox-oriented procedures may also be incorporated to reset metabolic function and improve treatment outcomes. Diet plays a central role in the success of a weight management program. Rather than restrictive eating, Ayurveda emphasises digestive efficiency and food compatibility, prescribing meals that are easy to metabolise and aligned with the individual’s constitution. This approach helps regulate appetite, reduce cravings, and improve nutrient absorption without creating nutritional deficiencies. Lifestyle correction is another essential component. Daily routines (Dinacharya), sleep regulation, and physical activity such as yoga are integrated into the program to support metabolic balance and long-term weight stability. These practices ensure that the results achieved during the retreat can be maintained beyond the treatment period. A weight management retreat in Kerala offers a distinct advantage due to its combination of authentic Ayurvedic expertise, climate, and access to high-quality herbal preparations. Across India, programs may vary between clinical centres and wellness retreats, while destinations such as Sri Lanka and Bali offer similar experiences with a stronger emphasis on relaxation and wellness tourism rather than classical Ayurvedic protocols. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with stubborn weight gain, metabolic slowdown, fluid retention, or post-diet weight rebound. It is also suitable for those seeking a structured and medically guided program that goes beyond conventional weight loss methods. Ayurvedic weight management ultimately focuses on retraining the body’s internal systems, allowing it to maintain balance naturally. By combining therapies, diet, and lifestyle practices, it provides a comprehensive and sustainable pathway to achieving optimal body weight and long-term metabolic health.

A Dosha-balancing, anti-inflammatory diet and lifestyle guidance encourage sustainable self-care and preventive wellbeing, while recovery develops at an individual pace. After a comprehensive consultation and clinical assessment, the Ayurvedic physician prepares and updates the plan according to the guest’s Prakriti (body constitution), Vikriti (current imbalance), health condition, age, strength, medical history and therapeutic goals. Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common, long-term condition affecting how the gut works, causing recurrent abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits: constipation, diarrhoea, or an alternating mix of both. It's what's called a functional disorder: the symptoms are genuine and can be very disruptive, but the bowel itself isn't damaged or diseased, which is reassuring and shapes how it's best managed. IBS is now understood as a disorder of the gut–brain interaction, which is why stress, diet, and lifestyle affect it so strongly and its close link to Agni, the digestive fire. With the right individualised care, most people find their symptoms genuinely improve. The one essential first step is a proper diagnosis, since IBS is confirmed by ruling out other conditions.

14 Nights Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment Program

The 14 Nights Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment Program at Indimasi Healing Village is intended for individuals seeking Ayurvedic support for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and associated digestive disturbances, with the emphasis placed on understanding contributing factors rather than managing isolated symptoms. The Ayurveda philosophy looks beyond the presenting complaint through a detailed assessment of health history, current physical condition, lifestyle and individual constitution, seeking to identify underlying causes of imbalance. Within this Ayurvedic perspective, digestive health and Agni (digestive fire) are important considerations when evaluating gastrointestinal wellbeing, while the person’s broader physiological balance is also taken into account. Care is therefore not based on a uniform IBS protocol; the individual’s condition, constitution and therapeutic objectives determine the appropriate direction of Ayurvedic support. The centre combines Ayurveda and Siddha knowledge within an integrated, root-cause-oriented model of care, providing a framework for addressing chronic digestive concerns in a personalised manner. The therapeutic objectives centre on supporting digestive function, gastrointestinal comfort, systemic balance and sustainable long-term wellbeing, while helping individuals understand the lifestyle factors that may influence their digestive health. Personalised dietary guidance and lifestyle adjustments can form part of the broader care plan, with recommendations intended to support healthier routines beyond the residential stay. Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Stress Management

Ayurvedic stress management is centred on the understanding that mental strain and nervous system imbalance are closely linked to physiological disruption. When the body remains in a prolonged state of stimulation, it affects sleep patterns, digestion, hormonal balance, and cognitive function. Ayurveda approaches this condition by stabilising the nervous system, regulating internal rhythms, and restoring the body’s ability to shift between activity and recovery. A key factor in stress-related conditions is the imbalance of Vata dosha, which governs movement, nerve impulses, and mental activity. When aggravated, it can lead to restlessness, anxiety, irregular sleep, and mental fatigue. Ayurvedic therapies focus on grounding and stabilising this imbalance through consistent, rhythm-based treatments that calm the system and reduce overstimulation. A structured stress management retreat in Kerala, India incorporates therapies specifically designed to regulate the nervous system. Treatments such as Shirodhara, where warm medicated oil is poured over the forehead, help reduce mental hyperactivity and improve sleep patterns. Abhyanga (synchronised oil massage) supports circulation and induces a state of deep relaxation, while Nasya (nasal therapy) is used to clear the head region and improve mental clarity. These therapies work together to shift the body from a heightened stress response to a more stable and balanced state. In addition to treatments, herbal formulations are prescribed to support the nervous system and improve the body’s adaptive response to stress. These are combined with structured daily routines, breathing practices, and meditation techniques that help regulate mental activity and improve focus. The environment plays a significant role in the effectiveness of stress management programs. A stress management retreat in Kerala provides a setting that supports recovery through natural surroundings, consistent climate, and access to experienced Ayurvedic practitioners. Across India, programs may vary between clinical and retreat-based formats, while Sri Lanka offers a similar tropical setting with a growing focus on Ayurvedic relaxation therapies. In contrast, Bali positions stress management within a wellness tourism framework, often blending Ayurveda with yoga and spa-based experiences. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing burnout, chronic stress, sleep disturbances, anxiety, or cognitive fatigue. It is also relevant for those whose work or lifestyle involves prolonged mental engagement, irregular routines, or high levels of responsibility. A typical program begins with a detailed consultation, followed by a personalised treatment plan that integrates therapies, diet, and daily routine adjustments. Emphasis is placed on consistency and gradual regulation rather than quick relief, ensuring that the nervous system stabilises over time. Ayurvedic stress management ultimately focuses on retraining the body’s response to stress, allowing it to function without constant overstimulation. By combining therapeutic interventions with lifestyle correction, it offers a structured and sustainable method to improve mental clarity, sleep quality, and overall cognitive function.

Piles Treatment

Piles, or hemorrhoids, are swollen veins in the rectum or anus that cause pain, bleeding, and discomfort during bowel movements. Ayurveda identifies the imbalance of Doshas, particularly Vata and Pitta, as contributing factors along with poor digestion and constipation. Treatment involves herbal medications like Triphala and Arshoghni Vati to improve digestion, soften stools, and reduce swelling. For advanced cases, Kshara Karma (alkaline therapy) and minimally invasive procedures like Ksharasutra are employed. Dietary guidance, lifestyle changes, and Panchakarma detox therapies further support healing, offering a comprehensive and natural solution to manage and prevent Piles effectively.

Treatment For Back Pain

Central to Ayurveda is the concept of balance and harmony within the body, achieved through a combination of natural remedies, lifestyle adjustments, and therapeutic practices. Herbal remedies play a significant role in Ayurvedic treatment for back pain. Various herbs and botanicals with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties are utilized to reduce swelling, alleviate muscle tension, and relieve pain. These may include substances such as ginger, turmeric, ashwagandha, and guggulu, which have been used for centuries to support musculoskeletal health and promote overall well-being. Dietary modifications are another essential aspect of Ayurvedic therapy for back pain. Recommendations typically involve consuming foods that possess anti-inflammatory properties while avoiding those that can contribute to inflammation and aggravate discomfort. Additionally, emphasis is placed on maintaining proper digestion and eliminating toxins from the body, as digestive health is closely linked to overall wellness in Ayurveda. Incorporating lifestyle adjustments is integral to the Ayurvedic approach to managing back pain. This may involve adopting correct posture habits, engaging in regular physical activity to strengthen the back muscles and improve flexibility, and implementing stress-reducing practices such as meditation and deep breathing exercises. By addressing the root cause of back pain through lifestyle modifications, Ayurveda aims to prevent future occurrences and promote long-term relief. Ayurvedic therapies offer a range of specialized treatments tailored to individuals experiencing back pain. These may include Panchakarma detoxification procedures to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins, as well as therapeutic massages using specific herbal oils to soothe sore muscles, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Yoga and meditation are also commonly prescribed as part of Ayurvedic therapy, offering gentle yet effective methods to alleviate tension, restore balance, and enhance overall spinal health. In essence, Ayurvedic treatment for back pain provides a holistic and personalized approach that addresses the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. By restoring harmony within the individual, Ayurveda not only offers relief from back pain but also fosters a state of optimal health and well-being.

Pneumonia Management

Pneumonia is a serious respiratory condition caused by bacterial, viral, or fungal infections that inflame the lung tissues. The air sacs (alveoli) may fill with fluid or pus, making breathing difficult and reducing oxygen supply to the body. It can range from mild to severe, especially in children, elderly individuals, and those with weak immunity. Common symptoms include high fever, chills, productive cough (with phlegm), shortness of breath, chest pain during breathing or coughing, fatigue, sweating, and sometimes nausea or confusion (especially in elderly patients). Risk factors include weak immunity, respiratory infections, smoking, chronic lung diseases, diabetes, malnutrition, and exposure to cold or pollutants. In Ayurveda, pneumonia can be understood as a severe condition involving Kapha accumulation (leading to mucus formation) and Pitta aggravation (causing inflammation and fever), along with disturbance in Vata dosha affecting breathing. Accumulation of Ama (toxins) and impaired Agni (digestive fire) contribute to blockage of respiratory channels (Srotorodha). Ayurvedic management focuses on reducing infection and inflammation, clearing mucus, and supporting the body's natural healing. Treatment includes Deepana-Pachana (improving digestion) and Kapha-reducing measures. Internal herbal support commonly includes Tulsi, Pippali, Vasaka, Guduchi, Turmeric, and Yashtimadhu, which help in reducing inflammation, improving immunity, and easing breathing. External therapies such as Swedana (steam inhalation) may help relieve chest congestion. Gentle supportive therapies may be used based on the patient’s condition. Diet should be light, warm, and easy to digest, such as soups and herbal decoctions. Cold, heavy, and oily foods should be avoided. Adequate hydration is important. Lifestyle practices such as proper rest, avoiding exposure to cold and pollutants, maintaining hygiene, and gradual recovery support are essential.  Pneumonia can be a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Immediate medical evaluation and appropriate treatment are essential. Ayurvedic care can be used as supportive therapy alongside conventional medical management. This integrative approach helps in faster recovery, symptom relief, and strengthening of the respiratory system.

14 Nights Pneumonia Treatment Program

The 14 Nights Pneumonia Treatment Program at Indimasi Healing Village is intended as an Ayurvedic supportive-care pathway for individuals seeking help with respiratory health and recovery following pneumonia, with the emphasis placed on understanding the person’s overall condition rather than addressing respiratory symptoms in isolation. The centre’s clinical philosophy combines Ayurveda and Siddha knowledge with a root-cause-oriented assessment, considering the individual’s health history, current physical state, lifestyle and broader wellbeing before care is planned. This whole-person perspective is particularly relevant to respiratory recovery, where the individual’s overall strength and condition influence the suitability of an Ayurvedic programme. The approach does not treat every guest according to a fixed protocol; instead, the clinical assessment determines the appropriate direction of care and the extent to which traditional Ayurvedic principles are applicable. The programme's broader therapeutic objectives are to support respiratory wellbeing, physical recovery, systemic balance and sustainable health after illness, while encouraging appropriate dietary and lifestyle practices that can be continued after the residential stay. Indimasi's patient-care model includes personalised nutrition and lifestyle guidance, follow-up assessment and longer-term preventive advice, with the emphasis on supporting lasting balance rather than short-term symptom management. Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Therapy protocols may vary accordingly.

Bronchitis Management

Bronchitis is a respiratory condition in which the lining of the bronchial tubes becomes inflamed, resulting in excessive mucus production and narrowed airways. It may be acute (short-term, usually due to infection) or chronic (long-term, often due to smoking or prolonged exposure to irritants). Common symptoms include persistent cough (with or without mucus), chest congestion, shortness of breath, wheezing, fatigue, mild fever, and discomfort in the chest. In chronic cases, symptoms may persist for months and recur frequently. Risk factors include viral or bacterial infections, smoking, exposure to dust or pollution, weak immunity, and pre-existing respiratory conditions. In Ayurveda, bronchitis is understood as a disorder involving Kapha accumulation (leading to mucus formation) and Vata aggravation (causing cough and airway irritation). Impaired digestion (Agni) and accumulation of Ama (toxins) contribute to blockage of respiratory channels (Srotorodha). Ayurvedic management focuses on liquefying and expelling excess mucus, reducing inflammation, and improving respiratory strength. Treatment includes Deepana-Pachana (enhancing digestion) and Kapha-reducing therapies. Internal herbal support commonly includes Vasaka, Tulsi, Pippali, Licorice (Yashtimadhu), and Ginger, which help in reducing cough, clearing mucus, and improving breathing. External therapies such as Swedana (steam therapy) and chest applications may help in relieving congestion. Nasya (nasal therapy) can support clearing of respiratory passages. Diet should be warm, light, and easy to digest. Avoid cold, heavy, oily, and mucus-forming foods such as dairy (in excess), fried items, and refrigerated foods. Warm herbal teas and adequate hydration are beneficial. Lifestyle practices such as avoiding exposure to cold air, dust, and smoke, practicing gentle breathing exercises, ensuring proper rest, and strengthening immunity are essential for recovery. This holistic Ayurvedic approach helps in relieving symptoms, improving lung function, and preventing recurrence of bronchitis.

Ankylosing Spondylosis Treatment

Ankylosing Spondylosis is a long-term inflammatory condition that primarily affects the spine, especially the lower back and sacroiliac joints. It causes chronic pain and stiffness, particularly in the lower back and hips. The pain and stiffness are often more noticeable in the morning or after periods of rest and may improve with movement or exercise. As the condition progresses, inflammation may lead to gradual fusion of the vertebrae, reducing flexibility of the spine and sometimes causing a forward-bent posture. Some individuals may also experience pain in the shoulders, ribs, or hips, along with fatigue and reduced mobility. In Ayurveda, conditions affecting the spine and joints like Ankylosing Spondylosis are often understood as disorders related to Vata imbalance, sometimes associated with Ama (toxins) accumulating in the joints and spinal structures. This can lead to stiffness, restricted movement, inflammation, and pain. Ayurvedic management focuses on balancing Vata, reducing inflammation, improving joint flexibility, and strengthening the musculoskeletal system. Treatment may include anti-inflammatory and strengthening herbal medicines, a diet that supports digestion and reduces toxins, and lifestyle practices that maintain joint mobility. Therapies such as Abhyanga (medicated oil massage) help lubricate and relax the muscles and joints, while Swedana (therapeutic sweating) helps relieve stiffness and improve circulation. Basti (medicated enema therapy) is often recommended to balance Vata and support spinal health. Gentle yoga, stretching exercises, and posture correction practices can also help maintain flexibility and improve quality of life.

Asthma Treatment

Asthma is a long-term condition in which the airways become inflamed, sensitive, and narrowed, making it difficult for air to pass freely. It often occurs in episodes or attacks, triggered by allergens, dust, cold air, infections, or stress. Common symptoms include wheezing (whistling sound while breathing), shortness of breath, chest tightness, persistent cough (especially at night or early morning), and difficulty in breathing during physical activity or exposure to triggers. Risk factors include family history, allergies, environmental pollution, smoking, respiratory infections, and exposure to dust or cold climate. In Ayurveda, asthma is described as Tamaka Shwasa, caused by aggravation of Kapha dosha leading to mucus accumulation and obstruction, along with Vata dosha causing difficulty in breathing and spasms of airways. Impaired digestion (Agni) and accumulation of Ama (toxins) contribute to blockage of respiratory channels (Srotorodha). Ayurvedic management focuses on clearing Kapha, balancing Vata, and strengthening the respiratory system. Treatment includes Deepana-Pachana (improving digestion), Shodhana (detoxification) such as Vamana (therapeutic emesis) in suitable patients, and supportive therapies. Internal herbal medicines commonly include Vasaka, Tulsi, Pippali, Yashtimadhu, and Ginger, which help reduce inflammation, clear mucus, and ease breathing. External therapies such as Swedana (steam therapy) and Nasya (nasal therapy) help in relieving congestion and improving airflow. Diet should be warm, light, and easy to digest. Avoid cold foods, dairy in excess, fried items, and exposure to allergens that may trigger symptoms. Warm herbal drinks and spices like turmeric and ginger are beneficial. Lifestyle practices such as avoiding dust and cold exposure, practicing gentle breathing exercises, maintaining a clean environment, stress management, and regular routine are important in preventing attacks. This holistic Ayurvedic approach helps in reducing the frequency and severity of asthma attacks, improving lung function, and enhancing overall quality of life.

After a comprehensive consultation and clinical assessment, the Ayurvedic physician constructs an individual plan around the guest’s Prakriti (body constitution), Vikriti (current imbalance), health condition, age, strength, medical history and therapeutic goals. Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Therapy protocols may vary accordingly.

28 Nights Immune Dysfunction Treatment Program

The 28 Nights Immune Dysfunction Treatment Program at Indimasi Healing Village is intended for individuals seeking Ayurvedic support for compromised or dysregulated immune function, particularly where persistent inflammation, fatigue or other chronic health concerns may be associated with systemic imbalance. The Ayurvedic perspective centres on identifying underlying factors rather than addressing symptoms alone, with attention to Ama (metabolic toxins) and impaired Agni (digestive fire) as potential contributors to disturbed physiological balance. The approach is rooted in restoring overall systemic equilibrium through personalised Ayurvedic care and an integrated body-mind perspective, with treatment decisions guided by the individual’s health condition and clinical requirements. The therapeutic objective is to support immune regulation, systemic balance, digestive function and long-term resilience, while helping individuals develop sustainable habits for managing chronic health concerns. Personalised dietary guidance, daily routines, stress management and lifestyle modification form an important part of the longer-term wellness perspective, supporting healthier practices beyond the residential stay. The Program is intended to complement appropriate medical care rather than replace conventional supervision, particularly where significant immune-related disease is present. Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Therapy protocols may vary accordingly.

Starting Rate: ₹ 369,060

28 Nights Autoimmune Diseases Treatment Program

The 28 Nights Autoimmune Diseases Treatment Program at Indimasi Healing Village is intended to support individuals living with autoimmune conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, SLE (lupus), psoriasis and other disorders associated with compromised immunity, chronic inflammation, fatigue or joint discomfort. The Ayurvedic approach views autoimmune illness through root-cause identification and systemic imbalance, with particular attention to Ama (deep-seated metabolic toxins) and impaired Agni (digestive fire), alongside the individual’s broader constitutional and physiological state. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, the care philosophy seeks to restore systemic balance and support appropriate immune regulation through an integrated Ayurveda and mind-body framework. The centre also states that guests with acute, severe flare-ups require concurrent medical supervision and that clearance from their primary physician or rheumatologist is necessary before undertaking the treatment. Therapeutically, the care pathway is intended to support better management of inflammation, immune imbalance and recurrent symptoms, while promoting improved overall wellbeing and quality of life. Long-term care extends beyond the residential stay through personalised dietary guidance, daily routines (Dinacharya), stress management and lifestyle modification, intended to help individuals manage their condition and reduce the likelihood of future flare-ups.  Note: All treatments and program components are personalised following the initial consultation with the retreat's Ayurveda doctor and the guest's health condition. Therapy protocols may vary accordingly.

Treatment For Arthritis

Herbal remedies play a central role in Ayurvedic treatments for arthritis and spondylitis. Medicinal herbs such as turmeric, ginger, boswellia, ashwagandha, and guggulu are renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties and ability to support joint health. These herbs can be consumed orally as powders, capsules, or teas, or applied topically in the form of oils or ointments. Dietary modifications are another cornerstone of Ayurvedic therapy. Emphasizing a diet that is warm, nourishing, and easily digestible, Ayurveda recommends avoiding foods that aggravate the doshas associated with arthritis and spondylitis, such as cold, dry, and processed foods. Including spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric in cooking can also aid digestion and reduce inflammation. In addition to herbal remedies and dietary adjustments, Ayurvedic treatment often incorporates lifestyle modifications and therapeutic practices to promote overall well-being. Gentle exercises like yoga and tai chi can improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, and enhance joint mobility. Ayurvedic therapies such as Abhyanga (oil massage), Swedana (herbal steam therapy), and Basti (medicated enema) may also be recommended to detoxify the body, reduce pain, and restore balance. By addressing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, Ayurvedic treatment for arthritis and spondylitis aims to not only alleviate physical discomfort but also to promote holistic healing and improve quality of life. However, it's important to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to receive personalized guidance and ensure safe and effective treatment.

Psoriasis Treatment Program (Sidhma Chikilsa)

While conventional treatments aim to manage symptoms, Ayurveda offers a distinct approach, rooted in ancient wisdom and personalized care. Our Ayurvedic treatment program for psoriasis is tailored to each individual's unique constitution and imbalances. Through careful assessment, we identify the root causes of the condition, often linked to imbalances in the body's doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. By addressing these imbalances through a combination of dietary modifications, herbal supplements, detoxification techniques, and lifestyle adjustments, we strive to restore harmony within the body. Central to our approach is the use of specific herbs renowned for their anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, and immune-modulating properties. These natural remedies, combined with therapeutic massages and specialized skin treatments, target the underlying pathology of psoriasis while providing relief from symptoms such as itching, scaling, and redness. Moreover, our program emphasizes stress management techniques such as meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises, recognizing the intricate connection between mental well-being and skin health. By promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels, we aim to prevent flare-ups and support long-term healing. Our goal is not merely to alleviate symptoms but to foster holistic wellness, empowering individuals to take control of their health and lead fulfilling lives free from the constraints of psoriasis. Through our comprehensive Ayurvedic approach, we offer hope and healing to those seeking an alternative path to skin rejuvenation and overall well-being.

I fell in love with Indimasi Village and the peace of mind it was able to give me. My sister and I stayed there for 14 days, and we benefited immensely from all treatments and activities. Everything was perfect- friendly and helpful staff, attentive and caring doctors, competent and understanding kalari and yoga teachers - Vinoj, Vishnu, and Roopa, and wonderful therapists who delivered their best every day with their treatments. The whole experience of being surrounded by the beautuful nature, being able to strengthen my body through kalari and yoga, eating wholesome meals, and receiving ayurveda treatment has reset my batteries, allowed me to refocus and reprioritize what's important in my life. It's a must-visit place, and I wish it and its founder Guru Yogi Shivan prosperity and success. Thank you so much once again for the uplifting and inspiring experience.
