If you are looking for a real time out with little distractions and a proper ayurvedic retreat, this is the place to be! Everyone who works at Chamundi Hill Palace, cares for you exceptiptionally. From the moment you land at the airport to the drop off, you will be looked after from head to toe. The food is amazing, the treatments as well as yoga lessons are adjusted to your life situation and well being, and the doctor(s) will provide you with explanations about the treatments at anytime. Additionally, if you wish to leave the premises and experience life in Kerala, go to places or villages nearby, the manager is happy to organize a driver for you. I personally have enjoyed a lot of quiet time, beautiful views and short walks around the hill and organic garden as well as beautiful company and good conversations. And the little health issues I got there with are a lot better now. :) Would come back anytime and bring friends.

I have just arrived home from my 9th or maybe 10th visit to Chamundihill Palace Ayurvedic Centre in Kerala. and after having 3 weeks of wonderful massage twice a day yoga sessions twice daily I feel on top of the world. Oh and the food. Lovingly prepared by the chef who uses the freshest of ingredients mostly grown on the property . All vegetarian and special needs are catered for .I cannot recommend this centre more highly and hope you try it as well. You will certainly feel the difference in your health and happiness after your visit.

It’s a peacefull paradise located in Nature and a very serious ayurvedic center leaded by Doctor Sheela. All staffs are very well trained and professionnal. I really appreciated the kindness and gentleness of those Chamundi Hill teams from therapists to kitchen staff. It’s also a nice and respectful project created by a very inspiring Indian lady to support education of young girls and boys. This place really touched my heart and took care of my body, spirit and soul! I’m so gratefull to discover this place 🙏

Excellent place to rest and take care of the body. This ayurvedic resort accommodates few guests so you are well treated and you are not mixed with guests that are not following the ayurvedic treatments. This place on top of a hill was the summer house of the queen of a small kingdom. She fell ill and after praying, she was healed. She then dreamt that she had to dedicate a place to healing and wellness. That's how this resort came to life. It is very clean and beautifull higher class accommodation. You get two classes of yoga and two ayurvedic treatments (massage) per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. You are followed by a doctor that checks on your progress. Food is delicious and you are really taken care of. Recomended

The ideal place to let go and discover the well-being of Ayurvedic medicine. A caring, extremely kind team. A peaceful place that invites you to read or discover the hill planted with rubber trees. Two massages and two yoga classes per day. For the benefits of the treatment you normally need 3 weeks, but 15 days already allows you to feel the effects. Less than 15/20 residents, which quickly creates a friendly guesthouse atmosphere. Chamundi Palace is an old and magnificent building which was, before independence, a (summer?) residence of the last king of Kerala. An owner whose life trajectory commands admiration and makes you want to know the history of her house transformed into a place of treatment. To discover and rediscover. Lovers of modernity, performance and speed go your way. Chamundi is a magical place for those who love the benefits of Ayurvedic medicine in a guesthouse and in a 50s/60s setting finely animated by a delightful team anchored in reality and extreme ampathy.

Softness, harmony, kindness: an art of living far from the noise of the city in a green and calm setting. This could be the motto of this Ayurvedic center. The care provided by the expert masseuses (or masseurs for men) according to the instructions of Sheela, the doctor, always present and attentive to our well-being, is, quite simply, magical. The manager, Jibu, is there to answer all your requests, even those that have no connection with your stay: buy a plane ticket, organize an excursion, renew your Sim card..... In short, an impression of living like a princess by giving herself the energy she needs for the year in France. This is the 8th Ayurvedic treatment that I have done (in different centers) and I ardently recommend Chamundi, which has managed to preserve Indian traditions by adapting to our comfort needs. I could talk about it at length but I'll stop... without forgetting to tell you that the food is divinely good...

I just spent 26 days at Chamundi Hill, a wonderful place away from the city, surrounded by nature. It is a wonderful place to recover and relax. The place is unique, quiet with a beautiful and relaxing garden. Here, everyone is exceptionally kind. It starts with Dr. Sheela who is a great listener and a heart of gold. She is always very attentive so that you can receive the best of Ayervedic Medicine. Jibu, who is the general manager, goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. I would like to thank him for his kindness and dedication. The rest of the staff is very professional and very kind. The care is individualized, varied and of high quality. In short, a dream place populated by wonderful humans. I have just spent 26 days at Chamundi Hill, a wonderful place away from the city, surrounded by nature. It is a wonderful place to recuperate and relax. The place is unique, calm with a magnificent and relaxing garden. Everyone here is exceptionally kind. I can totally recommend to stay at this place! The furniture is simple but everything is focussed on the ayurveda-treatments and yoga. I never met so friendly staff and they are very focussed on making everything perfect for you. I would give 5/5 for treatments, staff, atmosphere, energy of this place, garden, setting and everything else. But I can understand some of the other people who gave less stars: For the money you pay they could invest in some more modern furniture, painting etc. In total: Go there, book directly, dont expect a 5* Hotel and you will have the best time of your life!

I actually left this place only one day after my arrival but it was enought time to understand it's not for everybody. The reason why I decided to leave this place quickly is that I felt quite unconfortable because of the low amount of patients there (3 women only which is strange), the food which didn't taste good at all plus the lack of comfort in my room (clean but not a good standard. It was way too hot inside). And the problem with this place is that it's not cheap at all (or if it was the case before, it's not true anymore). It is also in the middle of the country side so a driver or a cab costs a lot of money to go anywhere. So far, massages are find and staff try their best to please you. But there's nothing exceptional about it since it's the minimum for an Ayurvedic center. I guess that for some patients it may be the right place for someone who is genuinely exhausted and who only want to focus on treatments and nothing else. But for more energetic people who just want to get a casual treatment or a good detox with an Ayurvedic approach, it's really not a resort I would recommend.

the whole experience was great I went with my sisters, it was our first Ayurvedic experience. the place is clean and the location is just perfect. the food is not boring at all you get all this healthy food 3 times a day. the only thing I craved is chocolate :S. the only reason I gave this review a 3 is the reason that the administration was not very fair and clear on the pricing of the rooms. we were over charged for one of the rooms. we got the same rate for the cottage the room on the first floor and then the room on the 2nd floor. each has a different price according to the hotel representative non the less they charged us all the same!!! there is no hot water in the rooms only in the treatment areas! other than that everything was great, the workers there sometimes feel a bit over worked but they do it with a smile.

Stayed at this place in *April* last year for around three weeks to find a cure for my allergies (IBS, Allergic Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Insomnia). Cons: 1. Most staff has serious language issues 2. Rooms did not have locks 3. Frequent Power Failures 4. Terrible internet 5. Limited choice of organic food, meals could be too oily 6. Lizards 7. Big Bugs 8. Weather isn't hilly This is a lone palace on a hill, away from the urban areas. A nice warrior goddess idol at the front lawn. Frequented mostly by foreign tourists who seem to create a hype in these reviews about how good the place is - the staff is respectful and the pricing is economical in dollar/euro terms. Worth mention, they were planning to renovate the place. The resident doctor kept probing but could not help with with my ailments, though I did not ask for her services. My condition got worse. Sincerely. P.S.: There were many single female tourists!
