Kashayapura Experience-
An in-house apothecary of Ayurvedic design, known as a Kashayapura, offers Amal Tamara's guests the opportunity to explore and understand how medicines and herbal concoctions are prepared in Ayurveda. The raw and dry herbs and various instruments used in Ayurvedic treatments are stored here. For those so inclined, participating in making their own medicine and understanding the ingredients involved and preparation methods can be an unforgettable and hands-on experience. Duration: 30 minutes
Agnihotram Rituals
Agnihotram is a Vedic ritual, typically conducted before Yoga sessions, to provide a unique spiritual experience that helps purify the air and surroundings. Agnihotram is best performed during sunrise or sunset for best results. At Amal Tamara, this ritual is conducted every day at 6:30 AM at the Yoga Peedam, promising those who take part a holistic beginning to each day. Timing: 6:30 AM.
Nakshatra Vanam -
The green spaces and gardens at Amal Tamara were designed to offer the guests, an experience deeply interconnected with nature. At Amal Tamara, embark on an Herb Garden visit, and learn about different medicinal plants used in Ayurveda, experience the Nakshatra Vanam in the herbal garden, housing the 27 species of trees representing Indian astrology, or plant a sapling in your name during your stay to mark your healing journey. Duration:: 45 minutes.
Kreeda Games-
The word "Kreeda" means "play" in Sanskrit. Amal Tamara can play a variety of Kreeda games, or traditional Indian board games that hope to impart learning through play. These traditional Indian games promise an engaging and entertaining experience for those who need their daily dose of engaging activities. Duration: 60 minutes.
Raga Therapy-
A Raga is a specific sequence of selected notes that offer a structure under which classical Indian music is composed. Ragas lend specific moods and emotions when played. Often specific to season and occasion. Raga therapy harnesses the healing power of Music and offers Amal Tamara's guests a unique experience. This kind of experience has been known to soothe the turbulent mind and restore peace and harmony. Duration: 30 minutes.
Pradakshinam-
Take a walk with an Ayurveda expert through the Dhanwanthari walkway, also known as the spiral walkway. On this short journey, Amal Tamara's guests can learn the stories about Ayurveda, narrated to them by in-house experts. Absorb the riveting story of the origin of Ayurveda, learn about the herbs used in Ayurveda, and the principles and practices of this ancient school of wisdom, while engulfed in the tranquil beauty of Alleppey. Duration: 30 minutes.
Dhyanam (Guided Meditation)
Dhyana, or guided meditation, is a unique experience that allows the opportunity to train the mind to focus & redirect thoughts. This practice also helps reduce stress & develop stronger concentration. Meditation also increases self-awareness & improves imagination & creativity. Duration: 30 minutes.
Deepam
The traditional Indian oil lamp has a deep spiritual significance. The oil or ghee used to lubricate the wicks in the lamp symbolises Vaasanas or negative tendencies and the wick itself represents the ego. When lit by spiritual knowledge, the aasanas are slowly exhausted and the ego too finally vanishes. It is a traditional activity in Kerala to light a lamp during dusk in most homes and is believed to bring positivity to those around it. The Deepam activity is conducted at dusk for each guest in front of their respective rooms. hoping to bring light and positivity to the mind and heart. Timing: 6:30 PM.
Singing-Bowl Meditation-
A singing bowl is an instrument. played traditionally by communities in the Himalayas, which produces a rich, deep tone when struck and played. The sounds produced by these bowls promote deep relaxation and muscle regeneration. They are believed to relieve pain in the joints & muscles, increase mental and emotional stability, and reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Duration: 45 minutes.
Culinary Session At Amal Tamara-
Only pure vegetarian and wellness cuisine is prepared for each guest, according to specific body constitutions and healing goals. The culinary sessions offered to each guest will ensure that you know how to prepare these dishes by yourself at home, taking the wisdom of Ayurvedic cuisine home with you. Duration: 45 minutes.

I just wanted to say how grateful I am being here and absorb this beauty and getting myself familiar with what ayurveda is and having the best experience so far. I spent two weeks in a month of tomorrow this beautiful location and the back waters of Kerala just two hour drive from Cochin. You are requested to produce the following information along with health declaration form:
- Recent medical history for each guest
- Recent lab reports, if any
- Details of travel, including all stops made en route
- Recent travel history, both domestic and international
- Valid ID and address proof
- Vaccination certificate, if any
- Carry breathable and flexible clothes for Yoga
- The voucher will be generated 24 hours after receiving the full payment
- Amal Tamara representative will contact you 24 to 48 hours before your arrival to confirm your check-in time and mode of transport. This is critical to ensure a flawless check-in experience
ID Card Type
- Indian nationals are requested to provide photo identity proof in the form of a driver’s license, voter’s ID, or passport. This is mandatory for completing the registration process at the time of check-in
- Foreign nationals are requested to produce their passport with a valid entry visa. For those on employment or permanent residence, passports must include a residential permit. This is mandatory for completing the registration process at the time of check-in and preparation of C Form

Program & Diet Policies
- Different Ayurveda program will be offered based solely on the doctor’s assessment of the condition of the patient/Amal Yatri.
- The major session of your program is a duration of 1 hour, and assistive therapy 30 to 45 minutes. In case of certain clinical conditions and also on detox days the program duration will be less than 1 hour.
- Major program may be cancelled if there is an unexpected illness such as fever, flu or any disorder that may not be conducive for the program to be done.
- Major program cannot be done for female guests’ during the menstrual cycle. However, the best suited program will be done as per the doctors’ decision.
- Therapists will be assigned based on doctors’ discretion.
- Amal Tamara follows a strict vegetarian menu based on your body constitution and health condition.
- Outside food during the program is not recommended.
- Timely intake of herbal medications is required for the efficacy of the program
- Amal Tamara recommends you to abstain from any extensive physical activity including extensive Yoga during the program as your body will be vulnerable during this period.
- Sightseeing, excursion and swimming pool are allowed only after an assessment of your condition by doctors. Tamara prioritises your healing.
- Maximum benefit of each Ayurveda program can be obtained only by following the recommended program, medications, diet and regime during the program and post therapy period. You will need to ensure complete physical and mental rest during program

All wellness meals as per body constitution are included in the package. In-room dining service is available ONLY on doctors’ recommendation after certain treatments and not otherwise
Wi-Fi Policy
Complimentary. As part of digital detox, Amal Tamara recommends refraining from Wi-Fi usage after 22:00 hours

Right to admission of visitors into the retreat premises and guest areas remain solely with the management
