I stayed at Nikki's Nest for 7 days with a group of 9 other women on a yoga retreat with our own yoga teacher. Immediately we felt welcomed as we arrived. The whole Ayurvedic experience was new to us so I have nothing to compare it to, but the treatments were an eye-opener as they are totally different to anything we might experience in the west. We were shocked we were stark naked for the treatments until we found out we could ask for a muslin thong/cloth which helped some of us more shy people feel a bit more relaxed. The treatments were amazing, totally relaxing for the nervous system. We practised morning yoga in the space by the pool which was a great area, but the pool area is a little 'tired'. Evening yoga was in the yoga shala which is a beautiful space.
The rooms are also a little tired, our air conditioner broke but staff came immediately to fix it.
The food was fantastic, but, after also reading other reviews, there was chocolate lava cake etc. which must have been full of sugar and not really in the Ayurvedic diet?
The curries, breads and staff excellent. We also met Nikki who was very gracious and welcoming. One evening we enjoyed some traditional dancing which was very well presented in the garden.
I did attend a yoga class with the resident teacher and found I may have injured myself if I wasn't a qualified teacher myself and knew how to choose a different option to some of the poses. The teacher wasn't very welcoming and even turned a friend away from one class as she had eaten 2 hours before the class and not left a 3 hour gap. I felt this was a bit harsh at a resort as opposed to a strict yoga training center.
We were woken at 5.30am from chiming bells at the temple below but to be honest we had to be awake soon after for our morning yoga class so this didn't bother us too much. The temple at the bottom of the road is creating a lot of traffic and noise, but the statue of Shiva is incredible, as is the cave below with Goddess sculptures in the cave walls.
There are some shops up the road and quite a few of our group went to the tailor and had a number of items made!
All in all we came away with wonderful memories and feeling totally relaxed.
Great Ayurveda resort with very competent doctors and therapists.
We always enjoy going there.
Nikkis Nest is a wonderful place to relax and recharge. The aryuveda food is delicious, the treatments are great, and the yoga classes are fantastic. The yoga teacher is such a kind person. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and I felt truly welcome throughout my entire stay. ? Thanks a lot!
I spent 9 divine days in this place of healing.
The medical team is competent, the follow-up is very good and the care adapted to each person.
I can testify that a good Ayurvedic treatment heals in a different way than in the West, and that the results are visible!
The place is located by the ocean, you can walk there or occasionally take a small excursion around.
Special mention to the chef in the kitchen who delights guests with lots of variety.
I recommend this place, trying if possible to stay there at least 15 days.
The Ayurveda program is well thought out and great. The staff and the kitchen are great.
Everything else is getting old.
The sea is on the doorstep, but access is difficult. Not suitable for swimming. There are better and more modern systems out there. It doesn't smell good in some corners. All in all, the quality of the treatment stands out and is very good
Simply beautiful! Perfect for relaxing, with top-notch treatments under medical supervision.
Absolutely amazing experience! Food is delicious. Stuff is extremely nice and helpful. Rooms are quite old but always clean. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful place and wonderful experience staying at Nikki's Nest. Everything is so well taken care of. We did yoga every day and enjoyed the daily massages and Aryuvedic treatments, with birdsong and the sound of the sea in the background. The staff is incredibly friendly. The buffet breakfast from morning to evening is diverse, with plenty of choices, freshly prepared, and made with so much love! The nearby temple is impressive to see. And yes, the sounds around this temple are undeniable. But honestly, that's just what adds that extra touch of color and vibe to our stay in India
I visited in November 2024, and in my opinion, the Ayurvedic doctors and treatments were excellent. It's simple, but the quality of the treatments met my expectations. I was looking for a place surrounded by nature and typical Ayurvedic practices. Delicious food!
I recently attended a wellness retreat at Niki
