We spent two absolutely incredible weeks at the Chamundi Hill Palace. We are a family from England, France, and Sri Lanka, and we all loved our stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jibu C. Joseph, an exceptional manager. Every day, he makes sure everyone feels at home. His kindness and attentiveness are remarkable.
We were also fortunate to be accompanied by Dr. Gayatri, an exceptional woman, gentle, competent, and deeply compassionate. She takes great care of you, ensuring that you are in top shape, both physically and mentally. She personally taught me a lot, and her advice will remain etched in my memory.
A huge thank you also to the entire medical team—nurses and nurses—for their professionalism, kindness, and attentive care. You are in excellent hands!
The yoga instructor offers relaxing sessions, imbued with serenity and great mastery. These moments of calm and centering were invaluable.
As for the cuisine, a huge congratulations to the chef: every day, we savored delicious, varied, and flavorful vegetarian dishes. It was a true culinary journey. Thanks also to the team of waiters, always smiling, helpful, and extremely kind.
All these people form a true family that we will never forget. The welcome, the care, the interaction... everything was perfect. We can't wait to return next year!
And finally, a huge thank you to Mrs. Saroja Thampi for opening the doors of her magnificent home to us. Her warm welcome made this experience even more memorable. ??
I was skeptical at first, but after a week at Chamundi Hill Palace, I feel lighter, healthier, and mentally refreshed. The Ayurvedic massages, detox routines, and satvik meals were transformative. Early morning meditations with sunrise views were a highlight. It’s a place where time slows down and healing begins.
Chamundi hill palace, a unique and old-fashioned place, in lush nature…
A place where kindness and joy are fully expressed, Doctor Sheela, of course who looks at the depths of your soul, listening to our ailments, small or large. the always present Jebu, who watches over our comfort at every moment, and I would say to our slightest desires, the team of masseuses, providing their care with all their know-how, with smiles and laughter.. a joy!
What can we say about the cuisine, the chef introduced us to the range of Kerala dishes, most often from the magnificent garden
Three weeks in Chamundi which passed like a dream where every day I felt like a real princess
Thank you thank you again everyone
Hoping to come back soon!
A cocoon of gentleness and kindness to heal and let go
I only stayed there one night, as a visitor to come back with a group. The welcome was very warm and simple. The place is magnificent. The doctor was very simple and kind. The massage was of a high quality, you really feel pampered. As for the meals, a delight! Thank you for this delicious moment ??
A magical place far from the hustle and bustle of Western society. A peaceful, restorative break for a true disconnection.
Spending 10 days in this family cocoon, you're held by the hand with all the tenderness possible.
The place is sublime and peaceful, and the team takes great care of you.
The rooms are super comfortable and the food is absolutely excellent; you won't go hungry.
In addition to yoga and treatments, you can walk in this beautiful setting and enjoy tea in the village.
It was a successful first experience for me at an Ayurvedic treatment center.
Thank you.
It was my first time and I discovered a little paradise, a kind and adorable welcome, quality Ayurvedic treatments, delicious food. A peaceful place lost in the middle of lush nature. You are welcomed here like a member of the family, with gentle attention every day and precious help with any questions. The yoga classes in the beautiful room are very progressive and enjoyable. I will return with great pleasure, I recommend 100%. Thanks to Chamundi Hill Palace for these two dream weeks ??
Nestled in the lush forests of Kerala, this Ayurvedic and yoga retreat offers a truly transformative experience. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in a serene atmosphere that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Highlights:
Stunning Location: Set in a thick forest, the retreat boasts the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
Exceptional Staff: The manager Jibu, Dr Sheila and the entire team are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive to individual needs.
Superb Cuisine: The chef, Sujeet, creates authentic, delicious vegan/vegetarian dishes that are a treat for the taste buds.
Relaxing Treatments: The Ayurvedic massages and treatments are deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.
Excellent Yoga teacher 'Thomas': The yoga and meditation sessions are truly outstanding, offering opportunities to learn new techniques and deepen your practice.
The Experience:
The retreat offers a personalized, tailored experience that caters to individual preferences. The owner, a gracious and wonderful lady, along with the doctor and most staff, stay on-premises, creating a homely atmosphere that feels more like visiting a family friend than a hotel. The place has an authentic, old-fashioned charm and the rooms although basic are clean and spacious.
The yoga and meditation sessions were the highlight for me. I enjoyed learning new techniques, being challenged in my practice, and exploring new asanas, pranayama, and guided meditations.
The Ayurvedic treatments, while initially unfamiliar to me, were adapted based on my feedback. There were variations in the style of masseurs, and some staff members struggled with English. However, management is responsive to feedback and worked to address any concerns immediately. The staff were always willing to modify approaches, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction.
Final Thoughts:
This retreat provided exactly the break I needed. The peaceful location, combined with excellent yoga sessions, delicious food, and caring staff, created an unforgettable experience. I had the unique opportunity to experienced Onam, Kerala's most popular annual festival.
This retreat is perfect for those seeking a genuine Ayurvedic experience in a serene setting. It's an ideal place to disconnect, rejuvenate, and deepen your yoga practice.
I will definitely visit again and highly recommend it to others looking for a transformative wellness experience.
The ideal place to let go and discover the well-being of Ayurvedic medicine. A caring, extremely kind team. A peaceful place that invites you to read or discover the hill planted with rubber trees. Two massages and two yoga classes per day. For the benefits of the treatment you normally need 3 weeks, but 15 days already allows you to feel the effects. Less than 15/20 residents, which quickly creates a friendly guesthouse atmosphere. Chamundi Palace is an old and magnificent building which was, before independence, a (summer?) residence of the last king of Kerala. An owner whose life trajectory commands admiration and makes you want to know the history of her house transformed into a place of treatment. To discover and rediscover.
Lovers of modernity, performance and speed go your way. Chamundi is a magical place for those who love the benefits of Ayurvedic medicine in a guesthouse and in a 50s/60s setting finely animated by a delightful team anchored in reality and extreme ampathy.
